Arabian Pearl Gulfis a private school located in Khamis, Bahrain near the historical Khamis Mosque. Founded in 1996 by Mr. Mohammed Moosa Al A’ali, it initially enrolled 250 students in grades 1 to 3. The school aims to provide high-quality education to students while embracing the historical significance of the location. Mr. Al A’ali’s goal is to produce well-educated citizens who will serve Bahrain and the world. APG is licensed by the Ministry of Education to offer its services to both Bahraini and non-Bahraini students. APG is serving 1,394 students under the K to 12 curriculum fortified with international programmes like the Cambridge IGCSE for Grades 9 & 10, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for Grades 11 & 12.

Admission Requirements

Arabian Pearl Gulf School offers its educational services to Bahraini and Non- Bahraini children who share a common genuine desire and strong capability to meet the school’s standards.

A. GENERAL ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Minimum age rule.

APG School abides by the rule on admission age of students set by the Ministry of Education. Students are placed in a given grade level according to their age. The cut-off date in determining the grade placement is end of January. The following scheme is provided to illustrate student’s minimum age for each level. The school accepts students of age +3 entering KG , but the student should be 4 years old by February. The same rule applies to all levels.

2. Assessment :

Prospective students will undertake a form of assessment as arranged by concerned Counselor/Officer.

a)Those seeking admission to KG1 until Grade 1 should pass the oral assessment to be conducted by concerned teacher/administrator.
b)Those seeking admission to Grade 2 until Grade 12 should undertake the following before being accepted:

b.1. Submit a copy of student’s academic report from previous school (average rate of not less than %75);
b.2. Pass both written and oral assessments.

c) Interview by the Principal and other concerned administrator/s is required.

3. Admission:

If admitted, complete the school’s registration proceduresand submit the required supporting documents below;

a. Photocopy of the Birth Certificate, Passport, and CPR;
b. Original Transfer Certificate from the school last attended;
c. Conduct Certificate from the school last attended;
d. Official copy of the student’s academic report from the school last attended confirming successful completion of the preceding class;
e. Completed Medical Record from an authorized Medical Practitioner (for KG going to Grade 1);
f. Passport sized photo (4 pcs.); and
g. Any other information parents consider necessary for the school to know.

B. ADMISSION TO IGCSE & IBDP

1. Prospective students seeking admission to IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme are requested to meet with the concerned Coordinator and shall undertake the following procedures;

a. Submit a copy of student’s academic report;
b. Prospective students may inquire about the programme;
c. Wait for the call to set your schedule for entrance examination; d. Pay required fee and take the entrance examination;
e. Wait for the call to inform you about the results;
f. If needed, you will be asked to present yourself for an interview;
g. Present yourself on the date and time of the interview;
h. Wait for the final decision about your application;
i. If admitted, see the concerned Coordinator to plan your course of study;
j. Complete your registration.

2 Continuing Students of APG School should:

a. Attend the pre-IB orientation in March;
b. Fill up the pre-registration form with your parents;
c. Submit the form to the IB Coordinator;
d. Discuss with the IB Coordinator if you have questions about the courses;
e. Complete your registration once your courses have been approved.

C. FEES

The following fees are compulsory and non-refundable.

1. Entrance Exam Fee (Not Applicable to KG): 10 Dinars per student
* This is a one-time fee payable when the application form is submitted. This fee is applicable to all students applying for Grades 1 to 12 admission to APG School for the first time.

2. Registration fee for new students: 50 Dinars per student as one-time payment to be paid upon registration.

3. Tuition Fees: please refer to the approved Schedule of Fees for 2017-2016
