Education authorities in Riyadh and the Eastern Province have decided to shift to remote learning on Tuesday, converting in-person classes to online instruction via the Madrasati platform across most schools and affiliated governorates.

In the Eastern Province, the decision covers schools in Al-Ahsa, as well as all schools in Dammam and the governorates of Al-Khobar, Qatif, Al-Bayda, Jubail, Ras Tanura, Buqayq, Al-Nuairiyah, Qaryat Al-Ulya and Al-Uyoun. The move aims to ensure student safety while maintaining continuity of the educational process under current weather conditions.

In Riyadh, the education authority announced the suspension of in-person classes in the capital and the governorates of Diriyah, Al-Kharj, Al-Dilam, Al-Hareeq, Hawtat Bani Tamim, Thadiq, Huraymila, Al-Muzahimiyah, Rumah and Dharmaa, with learning to continue remotely through approved digital platforms.

Meanwhile, the Qassim Education Department announced a delayed start to the school day on Tuesday, with classes beginning at 9:00 a.m. across all schools in the region.

The decisions were taken in response to alerts issued by the National Center for Meteorology, which has warned of continued rainy conditions affecting several parts of the Kingdom.

Education authorities said the measures are part of precautionary steps to safeguard students and staff, while ensuring the learning process continues in a safe and suitable environment.
