AUBH is the first comprehensive, purpose-built, American-style co-educational university in the Kingdom of Bahrain and is supported through the Mumtalakat portfolio. The University offers a unique approach to education which fosters interaction and collaboration between students, faculty and the professional community, resulting in a holistic educational journey for students, going beyond theory into real-life practical situations.

The brand-new 75,000 square meter campus is in Riffa, Bahrain. In addition to its open structures, AUBH incorporates innovative design in its education and social spaces, enhancing the learning and developmental experience for each student. Along with the classrooms, library and labs, the campus includes a Sports Center, indoor and outdoor courts and fields, a vast Student Commons, and an auditorium for special events.

AUBH is proud to be licensed by the Higher Education Council of the Ministry of Education of Bahrain, and is seeking accreditation with one of the six U.S. regional accreditors recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), holding the highest level of quality assurance at the institutional level.

What is the range of your virtual classes / learning?

• (AUBH) has ensured continuation of all undergraduate programs via the implementation of the latest in learning technology, utilizing globally-recognized online classrooms from Microsoft O365 Teams and Amazon Web Services Workspaces, in addition to the Moodle Learning Management system. Zero teaching days have been missed. The technology was implemented as soon as the campus shifted to online learning, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, with AUBH’s Students and Staff safety in mind. The implementation of the technology gave AUBH Students the capability to learn from anywhere, anytime.
• AUBH has recently become an official Cambridge Assessment Center for English language testing. The University now offers the Linguaskill test to the community as response to urgent market demand and widespread English proficiency assessment cancellation.
• AUBH has also recently become an AWS Academy member institution, offering a cloud foundations course through distance learning, responding to a need in the market amidst Covid-19. The AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course is an introduction to cloud computing concepts which can be applied across a multitude of industries.

Do you offer any scholarships or student discounts? If yes, please elaborate

The American University of Bahrain grants scholarships to students with exemplary academic performance, personal achievements, and motivation to succeed in an American-style environment. They are also seen as great ambassadors of the AUBH mission and vision, who thrive within a diverse and multicultural student body. We also offer a discount on tuition fees for two or more first degree family members who are enrolled at AUBH.

What coronavirus (COVID-19) initiatives have you implemented?

(AUBH) waived its Seat Reservation fees for students studying abroad who have chosen to return to Bahrain during the COVID-19 pandemic. It will also dedicate increased admissions resources to assist the transfer of students to AUBH from international institutions, ensuring a seamless transition and the transfer of the maximum number of credits to AUBH degree programs.

The University also communicated that measures are in place to assist GCC students who have decided not to return to their international studies due to the COVID-19 pandemic, having also previously waived the seat reservation fee for them.
