Admission Requirements

To be admitted in any Bachelor’s program the student should fulfill the following conditions:

Obtain a general secondary school certificate or equivalent, which must be approved by the Ministry of Education in Bahrain.​


​Completing the English Placement Test of Arab Open University or submitting internationally accredited English language examination results, if available. The minimum scores required for the internationally accredited English language examination are as follows: 

  • TOFEL:   Paper based 477 
  • Computer based 153 
  • Internet based 53 
  • IELTS: 4.5                                                                                                                                                                       To be admitted in any Master’s program the student should fulfill the following conditions:

The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature, or any related programme, with a cumulative GPA of (2.5/4) or higher.

The BA certificate needs to be approved by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The applicant must submit evidence of passing one of the internationally accredited English language tests, according to the following table:

  •       TOEFL:   Paper based 550 
  •       IELTS:     6.0
