Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, revealed the ministry’s intensive preparations plan for special education students for the new academic year.
The Special Education Directorate has prepared 197 new digital lessons, to cover the curricula of the first semester, for the benefit of the following categories: Autism Disorder, Minor Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome, Speech Disorders, Learning Difficulties, In addition to Outstanding and Talented students.
The minister explained that these lessons will be included in the ministry’s online educational portal, and the channel dedicated to special education via YouTube.
He said that visually-impaired students will continue to benefit from the audio lessons and other appropriate educational materials through the educational portal and other platforms.
They will also be provided support and assistance from teachers.
Specialists in sign language will translate lessons for students with hearing impairment.
Minister Al Nuaimi noted that there will be a direct contact between special education teachers and their parents to provide all support and assistance, in a manner that ensures the sustainability of their educational progress.
