The Ministry of Education, under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, has announced a significant shift in its approach to textbook distribution for the 2024–2025 academic year.

Rather than the traditional method of distributing books at the start of the school year, the ministry has opted for early delivery.

Driven by a profound appreciation for the insights of students and parents, the Ministry has devised an elaborate scheme to ensure that all pupils are provided with their textbooks in the final week of June, before the summer break.

This judicious strategy allows families to make effective use of the holiday, familiarising themselves with the academic syllabus and planning their educational journeys.

Dr Juma stressed that by issuing textbooks in advance, the aim is to enable students and parents to optimise their summer respite, affirming the commitment to streamlining the educational process and fostering a conducive learning environment.

To manage the seamless distribution of over two million textbooks to government schools nationwide, the Ministry has established specialised teams across educational operations, curricula, and support services.

Efficient process These dedicated teams will work to ensure a well-organised and efficient process, as schools communicate specific schedules and guidelines for textbook collection to their communities.

This innovative approach highlights the Ministry’s dedication to re-engineering educational operations, prioritising student success, and maximising the potential of the summer holiday.

By providing early access to learning materials, the ministry enables students to take ownership of their education and commence a successful academic year, equipped with the necessary resources and ample time to prepare.
